Things that AustraLearn did to not only get me to New Zealand but also, learning about, adjusting to, and living in here in New Zealand:
Getting to New Zealand is quite an endeavor (Thank you so much Eilis!), you've REALLY want to go to New Zealand to have the patience or the time to do all the work to even be allowed in. This is everything required to even get in: (if I forgot something let me know in the comments)
- Visa application (Getting a New Zealand visa is one of the most intense applications that I've ever had to do, I think selling the rights to your first born was a box I checked after 20 pages of legaleze gargon, sorry future bundle of joy).
- University forms (I am studying at the awesome University of Waikato, in Hamilton).
- Plane flights (all they care about on the visa form is that you've got one out of the country)
- Housing or homestay lined up.
- Transportation to somewhere safe once in New Zealand and makes sure that we get to our universities at the end of culture week.
- Helping me pick classes at Waikato.
- Home university forms for study abroad.
- Make sure that the classes will transfer back to Miami (or where ever your home university is) for credit
This one week alone is one of the coolest things ever. Plus you meet a ton of people to travel with!
Living in New Zealand:
- Safety (earthquake in Christchurch)
- Friends that I have made because of AustraLearn that I travel the country with!
Plus heaps (New Zealand slang) more like:
- local tips and places
- Trademe
- slang/New Zealand words (sweet as, keen, heaps, chur, cuz, bro, hangi, kia ora, haka)
- Meeting local people
- Local cafes and restaurants
- Nakedbus.com
- Awesome and younger mentors that will treat you like adults (shout out to Gavin, Paul, and Hannah)
NICE BLOG!!! Study Abroad in UK. gives students a chance to spread their wings and experience life outside their country. In an increasing globalized world, having international experience on your resume(like Study MBA in UK) is extremely important if you are looking to impress. Thanks for blogging..
