Week two of New Zealand

February 20th
Went to the local art show at the Hamilton Gardens. Went and saw Luke Thompson, a Wintech student was playing, this was really cool. He was really good, awesome chill and wine music. After seeing Luke some of my American friends showed up and we jammed to Knights of the Dub Table, which is some good funky beach music.

"All the world's a stageAnd all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts."

 After Knights of the Dub Table, we walked up the lawn and saw "As you like it" a Shakespeare play.

My friend Makana saw this little kid playing in the grass, so she got up and went and played with him. The little kid got so excited, might possibly be the cutest thing ever. Definite highlight of the day.

Cara: "I like your beard" Beard guy: "Thanks, I have 5 degrees"

Buses stop running ridiculously early, at like 7pm on the weekends, so I needed a ride from host family. Fail on the public transport

February 21st
Register for classes. Signed up for Introduction to Maori Dance, Intro Maori Culture, and Intro HTML... as a second semester engineering student, this is going to be the easiest semester ever. EVER.
Got lunch for the first time on campus at the sushi place on campus.
Called Anika back in USA using Google voice and talked with her for a long time :-) ... *Little hint for all my American friends, you can call anyone in USA fo free using Google Voice...*

Attempted to take bus home, ran across campus, caught a bus at the very last second... Just the wrong bus. Didn’t realize that it was the wrong bus until I arrived back at the university. I was just chilling out listening to Good Life by OneRepublic on the iPod shuffle that AustraLearn hooked me up with and taking in the BEAUTIFUL scenes of New Zealand... I was distracted. A 30 minute trip took me two hours to finally get home. When I did FINALLY get home, my host family was there with a red ribbon held out like a finish line and they were clapping and cheering and video taped the whole thing. It was really funny.

Bridal Falls and Raglan.

So my friend Ben is a pro kayak-er, and knows some solid local spots. Here is a beautiful picture of one.

After we went kayaking, we went back to Ben's house and had a killer BBQ and wine.
