Over the past five days we have been wine tasting (Grove Mill), chocolate tasting at a factory, and hiking Abel Tasman where we swam with wild seals. This morning my friends and I woke up on a guys couch that we met at a kicking burger joint called the Fat Tui that we drove out of our way over a mountain to get to in a tiny fishing town on the tip top of the south island of New Zealand (thank you Emily and Colin for the tip).
The next morning we jumped in the car and drive down to Kiakoura while watching the sun rise to our left and the moon set on our right over snow covered mountains. We went swimming with wild Dusky Dolphins then drove down to Christchurch. I am currenly in Christchurch and the damage that you saw on the news is VERY REAL here, the city is working just fine and is safe but there are detours all around the city where random parts of the road are shutdown because the pavement is 3 feet different then where it was. So crazy! All is well though. I find some internet and check my email to find a fully signed license agreement between PharynMed and Miami University (something that we have been working hard on for the past two years on top of school requirements) and freak out with excitement. Tomorrow we leave to do Authors Pass then head down to Queenstown by the 25th (next place I might get internet) and pick up a friend from the airport then continue on with the epic road trip!
