Able Tasman

Separation Point
As part of the University of Waikato's semester break, we drove to the Abel Tasman National Park which is on the northern part of the South Island. While someone could spend at least a week in the Abel Tasman, we only got to do one night and day.
We hiked out to Separation Point which is a nice relaxing hike with stunning views the whole way. At the end of Separation Point is a wild fur seal colony, and yes we jumped in and went for a swim with them. Getting out to the point is an easy one day hike that follows along the coast and through the thick bush of the Abel Tasman, along the way you will see fern trees the size of a house, palm trees, and pine trees... a very odd combination.

At the end of Separation Point is a wild fur seal colony that was just chilling out. Look at how cute this baby seal is!
