Nikau Cave and Cafe is by far the best cave tour that I have ever been on. The cave is chock full of glow worms, stalactites and stalagmites all that shine with an eerie pale glow from the flashlights that are given to you.
The cave has massive caverns (think Batman), tight tunnels that require crawling on your hands and knees through a freezing cave river, and this really awesome crystal pool. The cave is left in a totally natural state with only dug out steps into the cave and a wooden stair case leading out. There are no concrete walkways, handrails, or artificial lights. Yeah! It is 90 minutes south of Auckland, and worth every bit. There is also a flash cafe that also serves Mike's Organic beer. I wish that I had brought my camera into the cave to get some shots... but I am glad that I did not because my camera lives to see another day.
That table looks like a tree without the bark. Gotta get one for the house.

The table is a tree with out bark! It was really awesome to see. I am sure that Amy would enjoy that table in the house.
